Yes there is..... and three different kinds of 18RG-turbo builds:

    1. Oman - the DIY backyard job
    2. River - teeny weeny turbo with an auto slushbox (wont somebody think of the children?)
    3. Witzl - hektik skids machine. Will do the the 1/4 mile sideways the entire length.

    Hi,

LOL, don't underestimate my teeny-weeny turbo. You'll be still sitting at the start gate with your turbo spinning up and I'll be long gone!

Besides, even though you are getting a wonderful 18R-GTE engine... it is going into a "shoe box" AE71. Any RA28, be it 18R-C powered, 18R-GTE powered or powered by a lawn mower engine, still oozes class like pus from a boil. Whereas your car, no matter how fast and how awesome it can skid and do drags.. from a visual perspective just oozes pus.

Consider your car Cathy Freeman... fast, good performance, but not pretty on the eyes.

Consider mine as Jessica Alba.. maybe not as fast, but still moves well and is oh so nice to look at.

PS: Don't forget that my engine is built to take a lot more than the current turbo. So, if I decide later on, there is nothing stopping me from putting on a bigger snail, bigger injectors, re-program the ECU, and put in a manual box.

I think my car is more akin to Ron Jeremy.

Certainly not much to look at - but definitely packing a punch where it really counts.

    You forgot:

    4. Norbie - vapourware for more than a decade.

I bought my first 18R-GTE "kit" from Justen in the mid 90's. Yes, I'm a bit slack.

    Hi,

Yes, Nobie's is almost done. I went and saw Jason today and he mentioned Norbies is to be completed.

Mine's all done and looks very pretty, with some fancy pipe work that makes it look like its factory turbo. It should look great in Trini.

I'll be waiting for my DIY backyard manifold to shit itself... then it'll be off to either Medwin Performance or Roadrunner to have a real one made... to match a suitable Garret turbo of course But I need this one to work first so I can save the money and convince the wife that I should go ahead with the expenditure once the inevitable does happen... after that I will be waiting for the diff to go for my opportunity to cut down and install an F series.

Oh well, get the body nice and interior comfortable first I guess...

    Hi,

k so i know this isn't an 18rg and a LWIFOTI, but it's still very cool

is there anything the dependable tractor engine can't do? Gotta say though that it would work better if the engine had another cam. Someone buy it and put a twin cam into it!

    hey guys

Ive got a slight problem with my tractor motor. its developed a severe misfire once i get it passed 4000RPM. ill admit i was thrashing it with some demo's for the boys at sylvania boat ramp.

Once i hit passed 4 grand the engine likes to rev but theres no pulling power as it had before. There are major backfires and to be honest is sounds abit like a rotary. it does this throughout 1st 2nd 3rd and 4th. Anything under 4grand and it runs as smooth as it did before and with no load on the motor i can take it to 7000RPM with no misfire

    What could be the problem?

    Thanks in advance
    Cheers, Alex
