map sensor or afm, o2 sensor, really low voltage, or a cooler pipe etc is blown off if you have an afm.
Ok,
so today ive had a pretty shithouse day. I woke up and found out i had a flat battery so i jump started the car. Now usually when i start the car i have to crank it twice for whatever reason, but today it took forever to start.
Once i got it running it was idling really rough and pumping alot of black smoke out the exhaust and also out of what seemed like the turbo. If you rev the car then once it gets back to idle it stalls. When you start it again it will stall immediately.
Ive checked the cooler piping adn it all seems to be fine, any ideas???
Help please!

Ill have a look at that stuff when i get home tonight.... if light and weather permit that is.
Thanks for the ideas and ill let you know what happens

alright well everything seems to be plugged in and i couldnt find any leaks or cracks in anything.... so im thinking that something must be pretty terminal
Im going to pull the intake from the turbo tomorrow and see what it looks like in there, im expecting a mess.
any other ideas for if thats fine

Check for 14v across the battery when running and a minimal movement (max 1V) when you turn the lights on, from which it should quickly recover.
As cool1 would say, check your earths as well.
Edit -> also if the battery is fubared it may be taking your charging circuit to a short circuit, which would divert needed power away from the nice things like spark plugs etc

They have a separate sender for the gauge. It would appear it would "tell" the ecu it was cold so it would enrichen the mixture..... Sounds similar to what you may have. The sender is on the thermostat housing and has two wires running to it - one Brown and one Green. It is easy to get to and would only take 15 mins to swap.
Just something else to try.
mine only has 1 wire running to it......

hes talking about the other sender.

ok thanks i checked the other one and its fine....
I pulled most of the intake side of things apart today and the turbo was loose on the manifold which fixed a fair bit, also adjusted the tps and have the car running.
Its blown both the gasket between the head and the manifold, and the manifold and the turbo so ill get these replaced. Also has a leaky injector which is causing some problems.
And lastly the intake piping from the cooler to the turbo itself was really loose on the turbo end of it... so i tightened that up.
Car is now running nicely again other than the popping noise from the blown gaskets.
Thanks for all your help guys and ill let you know how i go once everything else is finished
