oh.. he's got a few more products since th elast time i looked
i might have to reconsider now....

i wonder if the difference in control algorithms still makes as much difference as it did before?

Bah, my wideband is plugged straight into the ECU and it tunes the fuelling itself

early on when Bruce and Al were researching the PWC (precision wideband controller) they went and bought a bunch of O2 sensor drivers from most makers... and had a look at what made them tic, and what the response times were like.

at that time, (iirc) many of them wer elike an analogue control circuit... a bit rough and ready and with decent lag, and not prpoer heater control etc etc.... ie.. they work, and are close.. but are nto as good as they could be...
they decided to implement a digital control circuit and response time was meant to be much much faster, along with more precise temp control, and much more accurate readings and better transient response (cylinder to cylinder etc)

some info here (but not much)

apparently they also bought a "mass spectrometer"... so.. i think they are fairly serious about it all...

and a narrowband link with inneresting stuff.

    Ahh, thanks oldcorollas.

I think I'll be satisfied with my purchase from techedge and will be happy to report back my thoughts to anyone interested.

It'll be a fun toy that's for sure

Check out late model HFV6 commodores at the wreckers. The front 02 sensors will be wideband (LSU4.9) whilst the rear two will be switching (LSF4.2). Its a cheap option.

For around the $300 mark you can then get quite a nice controller without a sensor from wbo2.com!
