Default air/fuel gauge,o2 sensor info need

    howdy pplz
Does anyone know if you can use the standard 1ggte oxygen sensor with an autometer air/fuel ratio gauge? it doesnt say anything about it in the instruction manual about wide and narrow band sensors, but to the best of my knowledge the 1g has a narrow band o2 sensor and shouldnt be able to run this kind of gauge. anybody know any better?

most production cars have a narrow band sensor.
there are exceptions like some honda and VW cars with the NTK and bosch widebands...

what kind of gauge is it? most just use narrow band sensors, and don't actually give you much information at all. if the gauge needs 0-5V in from a wideband.. the narro band won't work at all.

is the 1GGTE one heated? could be worth it to get a heated sensor and run it for the gauge by itself... although not hugely accurate, you can see when things are going on the wrong side of stoich

    its an autometer.
It says what voltage range it reads but its all the way down in the shed and i cant be arsed tonight, ive already been dicking round with my ghey throttle cable for 2 hours.
I suppose part of the problem is i dont know the difference in output is between a wideband and a narrow band o2 sensor.
fortunatly the standard sensor is heated, so thats cool. and yeah u just need it so ill know if go very lean(running lpg so im not 100% sure whats going to happen running 22psi with a bigger turbo )

wideband need a heater control circuit to run it.. itS7 not plug and play.

the heater control circuit for wideband sensor usualyl has an output of 0-5V (but some aftermarket controllers have 0-1V output also....)

    narrowband is 0-1V output

ive got an autometer one in my car, im just running a stock sensor and it reads fine, but ive found that my af ratio changes when my lights come on or i hit the brakes, or any time the voltage changes in my car. so not exactly accurate.

need to either put in a 12V voltage regulator (or 11v or whatever), and make sure you have a good earth circuit to the battery.. as well as good power from the battery.

Was wondering whether you all got the part # for the 1GGTE GEN3 O2 Sensor?

good thread! i've got the same issue im about to be facing with a autogauge air/fuel ratio gauge.. theres 3 wires off the back of it, black red and grey.. the grey fits into the O2 sensor wire but theres 4 different wiring position diagrams, for heated and non heated O2 sensors. is the 1JZ a heated sensor?

I once had a mz10 mteu that had a diky oxy sensor it was only a single wire one but i then replaced it with a stock 1ggte oxy sensoy wired it to heat up and also wired it to a autometer pro comp air fuel gauge and it worked fine.

I have recently looked into going wide band but the cost is crazy...

Im using the Innovate LC-1, damn good piece of gear, and REALLY cheap compared to pretty much everything else. They are about $300 iirc, with the sensor included.

You can then get a gauge from either the WBO2 guys or from innovate. I'm just going to mock one up myself, but will take a bit of effort.

EDIT - just checked prices... and for about US$260 you can get an Innovate LC-1 and analogue AFR gauge from www.diyautotune.com

I like my WBO2 2C0. Was good value with a sensor and cable and is quite small. That said, for my next project, I'm quite happy to try something else.

That said, the LC-1 on that site is damn good value, bah, why do they have to be cheaper than when I bought mine!?

I have been going back and forth between innovate and wbo2 and was either looking at the LM-1 with RPM kit from innovate or the 2J1 with the LX1 display from wbo2 and I think I have settled on the 2J1 setup.

I think that the 2J1 combined with the LX1 display, my laptop for logging/display and a 3 bar MAP sensor it should do pretty much everything I want in terms of monitoring/logging my o2.

The 2J1 + LX1 + splitter (to run LX1 and laptop simultaneously) + postage comes to about $450 AU$ which seems pretty good to me.

Being local also swayed my decision somewhat.

    Here is a link:

    http://wbo2.com/2J/default.htm

Also the controller has 2J in the name 2J!!!!!

Anyone who has experience with this product or is learn-ed in o2 see any reason why I should get something else??????????

Edit: I downloaded the software for both innovate and wbo2 and they both seem quite good, easy to use and understand. The innovate stuff is a bit more fancy with its displaying of logged data but I found that they both would do a great job.

For noobs like me the wbo2 seemed really nice and easy to work with.
