Locally-delivered RT142's are either live-axle Borg Warner, or IRS F-series. I've never seen one with a T series, but that's not to say you couldn't adapt one if you were really keen. Get your tape measure out!
basically curious to know whether a t series diff will fit a corona (mounting points), i', pretty sure i have read before that some models were equipped with a T series.
i did i search and in the diff info excel sheet that was put together it stated that the disc setup would fit "T" series diffs. pardon my ignorance but does this mean the RT142 could physically take a T series from an RA40 or similar. I (obviously) rarely venture out of the realm of 70's and 86's so i'm feeling awful noobish![]()

supposedly the borgwarmer diff from an RT142 bolts straight into an RA40 (mounts and all in the right spots or so the rumour suggests) - so it's likely that the T-series RA40 diff bolts into the RT142.
If the target RT142 had rear disks, you'd have to put those disks (and associated hardware) onto the RA40 diff. Going from disks back to RA40 drum rears would be a bad thing mmokay?
i love you chuckster.
many thanks
just hang onto that love until you've measure both diffs![]()
is the T stronger than the bog warmer? i wouldnt have thought so
are you only doing this cos you have a t series diff? unless its an ra40 diff the you car going to have to re bracket it, which then asks why not hilux diff?
the T would be the stronger of 2 weak diffs...

ST141 is solid axle, RT142 is either solid axle or IRS. This is for local models only, imports are a different story.

Ahh ok I thought all rt142's were IRS but obviously not.

Don't argue with an IDIOT.He will bring you down to his level and then beat you with experience!
F series diffs in the RT 142 are IRS as where the RA40 have a solid axle so if your a good fabricator/welder then the task is at hand if not stick to the solid axle or buy a RT 142 Rona.
Cheers Brett.
