NO & YES regards crownman 0412 711 481.
I have just done diff conversion. Just sorted panhard rod. I was compressing the rear and it all seems fine but when I lift the rear of the car there is a noise. Narrowed it down to the shock on the LHS at full extension.
Question is: Is there supposed to be something that stops the body of the car lifting away from the diff besides the shock? The springs holds the body off the diff so theoretically if the shock wasn't connected could the body move away from the diff by the distance that the upper and lower control arms allow?

pulled the shocker out and it makes the "slight grinding" type of noise at full extension so it is definitely the shock not the shock grinding on the body or something.
Can over extension stuff a shock? I used to have taller springs in the car than what I have now.
if its only at full shock extension, and the shock still does what its meant to...who cares?
if not, replaces ones shock absorber and stress less
i doubt it matters, as i think it would be quite rare for a shock to reach full extension other than when lifting chassis....

that is what I was thinkingJust thought I would check.
nows the time to get an airshock in one side of your rear end, to counter the huge mega torque twist your going to have with the naws....!
no, but seriously... might be an idea. Especially with how high the rear end of your car sits.

I am back down to normal spring height as I have 26" tyres again. These new springs certainly allow it to squat a lot more than the old ones. I did actually get my first bit of wheelspin last time so this should help that. (Also getting some 90/10's for the front) I probably would be fine with this height with 28's as well except for getting out of my driveway!
I think my problem is upgrading before I know what I currently have. I will use this suspension, see how it goes and then determine if I need something different.
one step at a time.
its painful, but it gets you there in the end...
or so im told :S
