i find that the opposite may work if you stay on the forums and help.
people will be more inclined to give you a ring when they need a wiring job
not that it sounds like you need more work but it cant hurt to help other people with knowledge off the top of your head

Yeah i was definetly good having you here jim.

Even though sometimes your personality got on people. Im sure your sick of people asking you millions of questions (mostly the same thing) over the forums when its pretty hard to diagnose things.

If only you could clone yourself and then get the benefits of two of you out there wiring up our cars.

I'm sorry to hear that Jim but I must say not unexpected given your posts over the last few months.

You have a skill, like me, that people don't realise the value of and aren't prepared to pay what it's worth. It's the "I can do it myself, I shouldn't have to pay for it" attitude. I'm not saying that's bad in itself, it is the "Aussie way" after all, and we applaud people who are prepared to give it a go. But when people look at you like you're trying to rip them off when you quote on a job that's what irks me. They don't understand what's involved - the time to acquire the skills, the tools you have to buy, and the time it takes.

I don't know how many websites I've quoted on only to lose the job to the guy's brother or nephew who builds a crap website that looks like shite! I'm over it too!

Then again, I did do my own wiring with the help of a mate (in keeping with my DIY attitude which was a steep learning curve) after speaking to you about it a couple of times.

I know you are a dedicated guy with a sense of humour and I'm sure I'll see you around at SSS sometime. And please stay on the Forum, even if you only lurk, I'm sure someone will need your expertise in the future.

Best wishes for the future to you and your partner,

    Cheers,

    Peter
