Don't know if is suitable for your application but research 'Redux'.
Was used to bond Aluminium honeycomb tubs, aircraft wing skins etc, does require some heat.
Also used to bond brake pads to back plates.

Abit of steamed rice pressed between the panels will work.... well, or works for paper...badly...

which one bill, as theres a whole heap of sealant, combination sealant adhesive and so on etc etc? how much surface area is involved, and how much gap is there to fill?

sikaflex generally speaking is incredible stuff, so yeah, im rather suprised here

also what series alloy is it the bend on the clutch support looks really stressed, why not machined from bar?

I suppose you would want something that you can put on in a pretty thick bead so that it allows for planar flexing. I too am suprised that Sikaflex didn't work but oh well. We shall see how your "bogan's solution" works.

They look beefy but it's all smaller than it looks so they're not that big really.
The Sikaflex was 252, I cleaned both surfaces and scuffed them up, clamped them together for 24 hours ...... and they pulled apart quite easily.
The cheapie liquid nails stuff worked heap better though I could still pull it apart, I'm trying genuine Liquid Nails and will see how that goes tomorrow.

Try some stud adhesive. Used to glue timber and gyprock together. Will suspend 4800 x 1200 sheets of gyprock on ceilings, a few nails to hold but once set is a bitch. Once hardened doesn't shatter when hit with a hammer so should be flexible enough not to tear but hard enough to hold (flexes with house movement but doesn't tear sheets).

Stuck up 150sqm of the stuff yesterday (ceiling too ) which gave me the idea.

Color and odour is your issue. You cant pick your color, I had three buckets in two different colors yesterday, fluro orange and powder blue. Both melt like shit, but have een yellow, pink (all shades), green, red etc etc.

Your best bet for applying might be some disposable piping/icing bags (available in rolls). A triangular bag you cut the corner off and squeeze out to apply. But then you can probaly find in your travels a fancy reloadable stud adhesive application gun. Oh cleans up in water while wet too

Got the footwell panelling done today.





All held together neathly with 4mm bolts and Nutserts.

We use urethane? that automotive windscreen's are held in with.
Try an autoglass place and see what they have.
Black and super sticky.
Wear gloves when using it as once it dried onto your fingers, you have to wait for it to wear off, (about a week) as it wont scrape off like RTV.

I'm just trying to remember, I recall my brother mentioning some stuff that is designed for metal-metal bonding. Something about a powder and an activator/hardener gel. I'll ask him next time I see him...
