    Default 1jzgte not starting

Went to start my car this mornin and it ran extremly rough for about 30sec, tried pumping the throttle to clear its throat but this had no effect. Then died and hasnt started since. Done a quick check over and found the fuel pump wasnt turnin on, I hardwired the fuel pump to 12v to check it was workin and pumpin fuel and it is so the problem is summin electrical.
With pump connected to 12v constant i tried to start the car it would crank over but not fire. I thought mayb i have flooded it so pulled out plugs and cranked motor over, also checked to make sure i had spark and everythin was workin.
I have put everythin back together and car still wont start, its got fuel and its got spark but i cannot work out why it will not fire up.
Checked the battery and its holdin 12v and showing 9-10v when cranking, could this b the problem?
This is my first toyota so am unsure what things to check, does any1 have any advise to what my problem is?

    cheers mike

    Bit more info would help!...

Stock engine, in the car it came out of, or an engine conversion? JZZ30, JZA70, JZX81 etc?

Have you checked the ECU codes (if any)?

We might have more of an idea to look when we know a bit more!

    Any ECU codes?

Is the check engine light wired up?

You do have to crank for a very long time without starting to get the ECU codes for startup from memory (15seconds +).

i had an issue with my ECU where there was leaking capacitors on the board, that had to be sent away and fixed and now is 'brand new'. Starts and runs great!
When this problem was evident, i couldnt get any error codes, so this is what triggered an ECU scare.

sorted, turns out the sprak plugs were fouling. Would spark when plug was pulled out and resting on rocker covers would sprak fine but when was in place the plugs was to weak to ignite the fuel.

heh i had the same problem with my motorbike,

as for the 9 - 10v when cranking should be fine, theoretically it shouldn't drop below 10 but if it turns over ok shouldn't be a problem
