    it is 1 way into the 'T"peice at bottom of canister (look at the pic in my second post) so it would allow boost in , some how I don't think its boost related

    Manny can you check on your car if there is another line coming from the bottom of the canister (it will still be in the engine bay) that has a 1 way valve on it, where does it lead to?

    This is pretty straight forward dude. I'm not having a go at you, but why are you experiencing so much heartburn over it?

    Vent at the bottom;
    larger line to the fuel tank (one way as explained by thechuckster); and,
    smaller line to purge to manifold.

    That's it. Done.

    Yes like in your last pic, there is a T section with the short upward run of hose and one way valve on the end. It's seated in that rubber grommet attached to the bracket for the canister. Nothing is attached to the end of it.
    My understanding is it's designed to allow air to be sucked in from the engine bay through the one way into the cannister when needed but not the other way so no fuel tank vented gases/liquids make it into the engine bay but rather out the purge port underneath the crossmember.
