your booster line must go to the intake manifold.
i have fitted a 1jz into my 96 hilux family ute ,and i am unsure how to hook the booster up as the old diesel ran a vacume pump [diesel . if anyone has any ideas throw them at me as i have no idea. cheers bigwad.
your booster line must go to the intake manifold.
And this may be pointing out the painfully obvious, but it needs be big diameter tube (1/2" ish) and have a 1 way valve (usually white disc-like thing) between the booster and the manifold. If you don't have the 1way valve, then you can get them easily at the wreckers, or I don't think they are even too painfully expensive new either.

I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
Ditch all the vac reservoir and stuff and plumb the booster to the intake manifold as suggested, I used the fitting on the rear of the intake manifold.
I ran without a 1 way valve but would get an annoying high pitched whistle when on boost, so it's probably a better idea to fit one as I eventually did. If you can't get anything from the wreckers just go to enzed and get a spring check.
being a hilux it should have a 1 way valve on the booster
do you reckon there is one on the vacum reservior.
nah, just go to a a wrecker, there should be a reasonably sized pipe running from the booster across the firewall and into the intake manifold, the 'check valve' is usually in the middle of that line.. little metal bit thats barbed on each end.
there's a large port on the 1j manifold for the booster to go onto..
if you got a front cut you can most likely use the line from that..
the one way valve factory fitted to my 95 hilux , clipped into the booster
I don't think the diesel would have run a vacuum pump, mine doesn't.Originally Posted by big wad
Mine has a 1/2" hose going from the rocket cover to the booster with a one way valve in it.
I can take pics if you like?
???? erm, im guessing yours wasn't a diesel hey..
