Just putting this out there..
The guy i use to do any head work for me suggested bending up a bit of wire thats grounded that sits in one of the ribs on the water pump pulley to ground it as well

his idea was that the water pump shaft was electrically isolated and could be creating a current somehow in the water. The idea being some fencing wire bent to run in one of the grooves would ground the rotating assembly properly
He just suggested it as a last resort if all of the above still doesn't work
OK, thread dig I know, but bare with me.
my ute has eaten a radiator, blah blah.
Acidic coolant may have been an issue as I had many head gasket dramas and was getting diesel combustion gases into the cooling system for many thousand kilometers. twice.sigh
it also copped alot of tap water in this time due to pumping coolant out all the time.
I also had to get a big wear mark welded up from the head of a bolt that had managed to touch against the body of the rad and wear a 6 sided groove into the end tank nearly through it. so this hasnt helped my cause as it would have been earthed during this time.
New radiator and I am trying to avoid this once and for all.
I am going to clean all earth points and run in new, bigger wire etc etc. so the electric side will be sorted.
Rad will be isolated (all aluminium) and the motor is cast head, cast block. highest of high technology
I am very much entertaining the idea of running a sacrificial anode in one of the end tanks of the rad to counteract any further dramas.
Will a sacrificial anode ward off damage from galvanic corrosion and stray current corrosion? This was my assumption but having read this thread I am now not sure?
Will adding a sacrificial anode to the end tank create an issue for flow of coolant?
I was looking at two options, the small expensive option:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AEROFLOW-...item43c9ae25b5
or the large cheap option
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Water-Hea...item4d1dcc519f
the end tank is ~ 80mm x 90mm x 450mm
