    Default FWD clutch change.

Hey guys I need to inspect the clutch in my car and I was wondering if you guys could give me a few pointers. I am not looking forward to it as I have to do it on the ground...

This is what I think I need to do:
    1. Disconnect the battery
    2. Remove all the items on top of the gearbox, such as airbox, afm, carbon canister etc.
    3. Jack the car up as high as possible
    4. Remove driveshafts.
    5. Support engine from above
    6. Undo the crossmember (do I undo the gearbox from the crossmember? or just unbolt the crossmember?)
    7. Support gearbox with a jack.
    8. Undo bolts around gearbox bell housing and gearbox mount.
    9. Lower gearbox down and out.

    Am I missing anything ??
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

    What about...
    6. Undo the crossmember (do I undo the gearbox from the crossmember? or just unbolt the crossmember with the gearbox attached?)

you will have to remove the crossmember under the gearbox/rear main area(front to rear) and the one that holds the lower control arms as well all because the stupid rear gearbox mount (rear of car)has a super long stud that wont come out unless you remove the 2nd crossmember
you can get it out if you lever it but i dont like you chances of getting it out without removing 2nd crossmember on the ground

#5 undo engine mount bolts from underneath the crossmember (front and rear mounts)
    #6 remove crossmember

You don't need to support the engine from above, a jack with a bit of wood under the sump will be fine. First thing I'd try to do is crack all the bellhousing bolts, as if there's one stubborn one and you've pulled everything else out you'll be really pissed off

All in all though it's pretty easy

You need to remove that cross member (the east-west one) for the N-S one to come out anyway, also the engine mounts are best left on the box, and just being unbolted from the crossmember
