    Default tacho/SC light

    Hi Guys
A little while back I took my gauge panel out to troubleshoot my speedo cable. Put everything back together and now my tacho/SC light dont work.

Now the tacho is driven by 12v pulse from the igniter and im guessing the SC light is lit up when the SC clutch is engaged or possibly a vacuum/boost reading.

For both of these to fail at the same time points me to an issue with the panel itself that houses the SC light and the tacho (left hand side of gauge space)

    All other gauges work fine.

Has anyone had a similar problem with both SC light and tacho failing?

I think at one stage i may have plugged the instrument panel back in with the battery connected, could i have shorted something out?

I have confirmed 12v coming from the igniter via the black wire. I attempted to test for 12v on the connector that feeds the circuit marked supercharger on the back of the instrument cluster. I didnt see 12v after some big revs (big stomp of the loud pedal used to bring on the SC light briefly) in neautral.

Anyway I guess I should source another instrument panel and try that, any other checks i can do in the meantime?

have you pulled the dash apart again to make sure all the plugs are in place properly? one may of disloged when putting it back together....

doh! dont worry, read your post again and your testing at the instrument panel, so you would see if any plugs werent on proper.

perhaps the lights share a ground and the ground has been damaged? if you can find the light and trace the 2 tracks and see where they go, my bet is they join to a common ground and this has been damaged

I think you may be onto something there mate. I did notice on the main circuit sheet, that two screws were missing that appeared to be ground points, but i certainly didnt remove them, and it worked before. I will still replace them though, just need to find some screws to fit.
