Default Hilux LSD - Where to find one?

    Hey guys

Im doing a AE86 3sgte conversion, and im using an '86 2wd Hilux Diff. It is the 4.3 model. The pinion bearings are a little stuffed but planned on rebuilding it anyway. I am aware that it was an option back in the day to get the lsd when ordering a hilux new, but these are very rare to find these days.

I would really like to run a lsd, if not i'll have to resort to a locker but for what i plan to use the car for that just isnt practical.

Does anyone have, or know of any, lsd that will suit this diff, or are there any others that are interchangeable? Im not sure what 'series' diff it is, if anyone knows this piece of infomation it may also be helpful.

    Cheers

Ring around some 4x4 places and find out if they do LSD for rear diffs on hilux's. Should have them.

Theres also one for sale in the classifies on here. BUt not sure if it would fit in.

G series diff from a MA70 or Cressida bolt in with mods.
But since your using a high ratio, proberbly easier to just buy a new diff carrier from a wrecked hilux ready to bolt in. Most 4x4 hilux's came with LSD's fitted.

IF YOU GO TO THE SEARCH THING HERE, THERE IS A LIST OF WHAT DIFF'S FIT INTO WHAT CAR OR WHERE THEY ORIGINALLY CAME FROM.
IF YOUR CAR IS UP THERE LOOK AT THE SERIES LETTER AND YOU CAN GENERALLY SWAP THEM.
bUT TO BE 100% SURE AFTER LOOKING AT THIS INFO GO TO A DIFF SPECIALIST AND GET THE ALL OK FROM THEM. NOT SAYIONG THE INFOS WRONG JUST MAKE SURE. OR DO WHAT I DID AND WELD THE BUGGER UP AND LET LOOSE!

I have a 4.3 prado rear diff with an LSD for sale.

    Diff had only done 40K
The prado is the 8", same as the hilux but stronger. the carrier and pinion are bigger but it will still fit your diff.

    Cheers Joel
