Thanks for the input. I have made 6mm spacers that accomodate the dowels from the KE25 and then made up the larger dowel that fits into the nissan strut (welded together). This way I get the strength of both. I don't know if the 6 mm spacer will make any difference to front end geometry (I doubt it) but I just didn't want to weaken anything. I will post some pics of the adaptor and how to make it when I get a chance.
Hey Bananaman how did you go with the struts as I am still in the process of doing them. I would be interested in knowing how the length of the strut compared to the Nissan strut so I can work out the height to mount the adjustable threads as I don't really want to shorten the strut tubes. It was a shame the R31 spring diameter was too large to fit the Corollas or I would have used them..

The cheap way would be to just put your stock spring seat on at the same length from the bottom of the tube as standard, or i guess slightly lower if thats what you want. How this will mess with things i don't know. The tube length could be an issue here though because you could be a bit close to to the strut top.

I'm leaving the shock choice and tube length up to the guy who's building my diff and did sone of the machining work for the fronts, he knows what he's doing and will do it in such a way that it will handle like it should at the lower height. Leaving this until the car is in for the diff though i think.

The only thing i've measured so far was the length from the top of the R31 strut tube to the bottom of the T3 plate dummy fitted to the shock so that he can sort a spring length, and that distance i measured at the ride height i want was a mere 90mm. I'm not going to just simply match the stock tube length, will sort it depending on the choice of shock. Will be using koni red adjustables more than likely front & rear.

If goes to plan i won't have bump steer issues like shane does - he bought (sort of ) some RCA's (roll centre adjusters) that are effectively a spacer between steering arm and the bottom of the strut like you've made, but 10mm thick from memory. I don't fully understand the implication of angles of the lower control arm, Shane probably can help with this.. I won't pretend to understand it properly, thats why i'm not doing the spring seats myself

ed: I've been saying this for months, but a full writeup will be done when its completed

I don't think bump steer will be a problem as the relationship between the lower arm and the tie rod are not being changed but the angle of the stub axle was a concern. I will measure it before I remove it so I have a comparison. Thanks again as now I know what to expect.
