Default Cut a hole here for a CAI

this might sound like a dumb question - but what's the best way to neatly cut a hole here.

This is my airbox - obviously not in the best position to get nice cool air in. So, I would like to run a tube through here, and down to the front bumper.

I'll relocate the wiring etc, and then go through here (where the white box is). From there it's into the wheel arch, and next to the towing bracket, and get cold air from the opening in the lower front bar.

I could just drill and file, but there must be a better way than that. I've looked at a hole-saw, but they mainly seem to be only for wood - not metal.

Anyone know somebody in the ACT who could 'punch' out a hole here?

    Thanks

2 possible ways come to mind, depending on how thick the metal is. 1) drill a few holes and crack out the curved tinsnips. it looks like a tight space in there, so that may not work.

The other option I can think of is to draw a cirle, and drill holes around the perimeter of the circle, then use a round file or some such to bridge the holes.

You can also get metal-cutting blades for a jigsaw.

Tin snips won't work, that steel is hard as hell. You should either get a metal hole saw yourself (not cheap) or borrow someone else's. You can do it with a cheap hole saw, but it'll be fubarred after

or you could use a small drill bit, and drill a lot of holes in a circle, then get an old wood chisel and chop it out and file it round . a bit of stuffing around though.

theres also a tool you can use called a nibbler, i think they're avaliable as an air tool too, dunno if you've got the room too though.

while recently working on stomps' abortion of a GZ10, he walked out of the house with a brand new tool i hadnt seen before, it was a snap-on air hacksaw, it was awesome! would be perfect for this, as it was a "stick" type too with the reciprocating blade coming out of the end of the "stick".
