Yo niggro, this shit is tight!

aight lets break it on down, and bring it on home to you.

Them be the casting numbers then it aint no 18R-G.

You gotta see my little Indian that the 18R-G castings start wif da "11111-" followed by a "85" and ven they gots the individual numbers, such as "210" "250" etc.

A wicked example of an 18-RG number would be 11111-88250.

    Try 2T-G.

All 18R blocks are the same, so there isnt much point in identifying its age, but the "253" from the head can tell you a far bit.

Basically its around the 3rd (out of 4) head revision. Its almost identical to the "270" EFI head, but it doesnt have the injector provisions in the intake ports.

From the factory it would have had 8.7:1 compression (determined by the piston dome size).

Best casting technique and alloy composition out of the 18R-G's.

As for year, late 70's early 80's?

if you want to determine compression ratio without pulling off the head.... you can measure using a compression tester ($25 supercheap)
    # 9.7:1 pistons - should get above 170psi
    # 8.7:1 pistons - should get about 130-140psi

(note - this is from my experiences only)
    ...... butt scratcher?!
