Removing KE70 door handles.

Hey all, trying to get the door handles out of the door without breaking the rod that attaches to the mechanism at the bottom of the door. I know the top section is threaded, but I'm trying to work out an easy and quick way to get them back in once the doors are sprayed. I realise it's a bit of silly question, but maybe someone knows how to get the bastards out real easy.

im a bit lost as to what you are struggling with?

is it just the handle you are removing? or all the roddery inside the door aswell.
to remove the handle. undo the bolts that hold it in. then where the rod runs to it you will see little plastic clips holding it. get the clip of then it can rotate (memory is fuzzy, but u get the clip off then the rod will come out easy peasy.)
and getting them back in is a reversal. was quite simple from memory. and i was only 16 when i last did them

the rods do come out of the doors from memory.
you just undo all the clips then fiddle it around and she will come out.

everything in the ke70 doors is fiddly, but its not particularly difficult if you have a close look.

Cheers for the reply Love, I probably should have looked at the handle setup during the day, when I was trying to get them out it was pretty dark and I had no lights haha. I just wasn't sure whether to remove the rod at the top or at the bottom. I'll have a look at these plastic clips in the morning.

Haha yeah I need one of those fluoroescent work-lights, I've got an old-skool trouble-lamp but I had no power in the garage and the spot-lights on the back porch went out too. I had the shits with the doors as it was right on dusk and I wanted to get the fuckers out lol.

i love the shaved look...but i hate the little button you have to have to open them. defeats the purpose in my opinion.

I don't have to have the button to be legal in NZ, I prefer the button (will be a different style to what is sitting there in the photo) so thats why its done that way.
