Huh?
Engine mounts (steel brackets)
or Crossmember mounts (rubber dampeners).
Engine mounts will all differ depending on what car they came in.
Hey everyone,
have been searching on the net but im struggling to find the make and model code for a car with a 1gge. I need the numbers so that toyota can look up the database and get in some engine mounts for me.
If anyone has a naturally aspirated 1g could you take down the numbers off your compliance plate and let me know what they are, it would be a great help to me.
thanks
craig

yeah, thats the description i got![]()
1gge engine mounts, apparently they will enable me to use the bolt position on the ra23 cross member and with minor mods 1ggte will bolt up nicely
so what i need to know is the make and model/body numbers off any car that came out with a 1gge
EDIT: yeah so steel brackets
No, you need to find out what mounts you need to suit the RA23 crossmember (I think its the GS130 Crown, but I'm not sure).
Because GS130 Crown 1GGE mounts will differ greatly from GA61 1GGE mounts, which inturn will differ greatly from GA70 1GGE mounts.

1GGEU came in GA61 Celica XX 1983-1986 . From a quick search on here and google!
These are the steel engine mounts your after correct? As these are the ones im using for my 1GGZE into RA28
Steel 1G engine mounts and 18RC engine rubbers work with little to no mods apparently

My advice and this is what I did is call Castle Hill Toyota in Sydney (Their number being (02) 8831 8888) and ask to speak with parts. Say you want to price some engine mounts from a 1ggeu gz20 soarer. They'll be so kind as to look them up for you, tell you that they'll have to come from Japan and then give you a price of $175 (or there abouts) per mount.
Cheers

fark that!
i'll machine them myself for that much!
Actually I just remembered...the better option would be to ring toyospares (I think thats what their name was) in Victoria. Not quite sure of their number but when I called them a month or two back they knew what I was talking about, had a set and quoted me $110 per mount.

i just sold a pair of GTE mounts, steel version and the rubbers for $50...
I think there are two points here;
1. Know what you need FIRST - ref Cruz's lat post.
2. When dealing with Toyota parts, be nice and make a friend with someone who knows how to use the EPC properly - there are many staff that arent as good as others. The good ones will use the make & model listing, and your INFORMED advice to find anything you need. The not so good will say; "I need a VIN".
Any VIN for a 1G will be an import AFAIK, and it will likely not be listed in the Aussie EPC.
meh...
Woulda done that, or modified existing ones in the first place...Originally Posted by SillyCarS

stuff them mounts.
if your hassling with a 1G them improve the handling at the same time.
KE70 rack with crossmember. trim width down weld on right angles at the ends.
redril holes.
now use front sump for +4-5ltrs more oil (great for the track) and a T18 swaybar to clear it.
cut of ke mounts .. trim down weld back on in right spot and hey presto
RNP 1GGTE Celica .. and on std cast turbo mounts that i couldnt even give away![]()
