Hi folks, Im new to this forum. I'd really appreciate it if you some of you guys could shed some advices/feedback, please.
Just FYI :
Car Make : 1982 Toyota Carina.
Engine : 1G-GTE 3rd Gen.
ECU : MINES
Drivetrain : W58 G/Box + R32 Subframe (4.1 F/Drive + Viscious LSD)
Other minor mods : APEXi Dual-Chamber B/O + Custom made cluch plate (the other components are stock as for now. e/g.. pressure plate)
Anyways, what I really want help on is :
1. I'd like to know how strong are the internals? How much boost can it ACTUALLY take with NOT MUCH problem? Currently running at 0.6Bar. Can push it till 1.3Bar with a manual boost controller, but got this gut feeling the con-rod will blow if I push anymore than 0.6Bar.
2. In the twi-light of performance and engine reliability at stock .. whats the maximum HP can I get from JUST messing around with boost?
3. On the flipside, can I know the pros&cons of twin or single turbo-charging the 1G-GTE? Any turbos/wastegates/blowoffs to recommend? Seriously, Im really lost despite reading here and there all over the internet.
4. Are there any articles on 1G-GTE rebuilds?
5. Any tips/advices on modifying/rebuilding the engine? I understand the 3rd gen churns about 210hp@stock boost, but what would it take to get say.. 300-350hp? If not atleast, 200-250rwhp?

You have an R32 subframe in your xA6x Carina?!?!?! Pics please!
For more power, I think single turbo with aftermarket management may be way when keeping stock internals.

the 1g internals are relatively bullet proof.
search for a thread started by forcefed6 about 6BOOST's 1g ke70 than ran 9.71 on what is basically stock internals.
very tough motor and will handle 20+psi on stock internals...
