It will possibly have to go back to the dealer, I know that my scantool will not perform security programming on Toyotas
Only other suggestion is to contact a locksmith, they have differant coding equipment that is key specific
I purchased a IS200 for my wife (AE86 race car project now delayed again) and it only came with one master key. I purchased a key/transponder from Lexus at a rediculous sum and am getting it cut tomorrow. They are going to sting me more money if they do it. Does anyone know how to program in the new key/transponder to the old one. It should be the same as Toyota. It is a 2002 model.
Thanks in advance

There is a stupidly long and complicated procedure for adding keys involving no tools, just pushing the right buttons in the right order (brake pedal, etc).
I think someone posted it up on the altezzaclub forums, but can't remember exactly where it was.

you will need to go to the dealer.
for obvious reasons the procedure isnt common knowledge
I DONT WORK FOR TOYOTA ANYMORE
please, no more PMs!
I found all this stuff on the net somewhere, Like Mos says it involves some coordinated button pushing. There seems to be alot of different ways of doing this So I would advise caution and look over the link I posted for relevant information. There are apparently different procedures for the Immobilisr and remote parts of the key. and there is also a delete all code so , again I say be sure that you have similar information from different places. the first set of instructions came from the lexus link, the others are from general toyota sites.
programming Process: from http://my.is/forums/general-discussi...m-new-key.html
-Insert current (already programmed) master key into ignition but do not turn
-Depress and release the throttle pedal (to the floor) 5 times, smoothly and calmly (really fast wont work)
-within 20 seconds depress and release brake pedal 6 times (dont need to go to the floor on this) still dont go really fast.
-remove the key from ignition
-within 10 seconds insert key to be programmed
-within 10 seconds depress and release throttle pedal ONE time
-the security indicator should now be blinking.
-after 60 seconds the indicator should stop blinking indicating the new key is programmed. This usually takes more like 45 seconds than 60. be patiant, 45 seconds seems like forever when watching a small blinking red light.
-remove key then reinsert and start car normally
For 1998+ Toyota, Lexus
Add Duplicate Key
1. Simultaneously depress and release brake and accelerator pedals 1 time.
2. Insert existing master key into ignition.
3. Within 15 seconds depress and release accelerator pedal 5 times.
4. Within 20 seconds depress and release the brake pedal 6 times and
remove key.
5. Within 10 seconds insert new key into ignition.
6. Within 10 seconds depress and release the accelerator pedal 1 time.
7. After 80 seconds new key is registered and security light goes off.
8. Remove new key and depress and release brake pedal 1 time.
For 2002+ Toyota, Lexus
Add Duplicate Key
Requires one working Toyota/Lexus Master Key.
1. Make sure all doors and windows are closed.
2. Insert Master key into the ignition cylinder.
3. Cycle the ignition cylinder from On to OFF five times.
4. Open and close the “driver side door 6 times.
5. Remove the Master Key and insert the new duplicates key.
6. TURN THE IGNITION CYLINDER ON.
7. The new key will be registered after 60 seconds. The THEFT light on the dashboard will go out, indicating that programming has been completed.

I remember a similar procedure for inputting the keyless entry code into my old Subaru Legacy.
ie open door, turn ignition key on & off x times, depress clutch or cycle auto from park to neutral, etc, lift door handle x times to program code, blah blah
Going to bookpark that page, might be needing it shortly![]()
