surely the f-series is physically bigger than the E?
so i bought a diff for the spoontah and i think its an F series.
story is, i wanted an f series and i went to check out a guy selling a diff who claims its a hilux diff already converted for ke70. its bigger than i need but the price was good. so i get there and it doesnt look like a g series, too small. he tells me its definately a hilux diff but he got it from a tarago.
now to the best of my knowledge taragos came with both the f and e series diff.
considering i already have an e series in the spoontah, is there a way to tell if the new housing is an f series?
surely the f-series is physically bigger than the E?
looks very similar in size but maybe its measurable. i definately plan to measure the e series when i get my car back from a mates place. the centres themselves are 7.1 and 7.4 arent they?
f-series is always listed as 7.5, whether that's for convenience or an exact measurement, I'm not sure![]()
you can't fit an F diff in an E housing. the crown wheel won't fit through the flange hole. therefore, if the flange hole is less than 7.5"(190mm) it's an E diff.
beer me!
F series have 27 spline axles. not sure on the E series.
thats all i can say really
hello
its an e series![]()
time to lay the smack down?
nah cant be arsed. bought the diff with a whole bunch of other parts as a package, i still got a really good deal its just a shame cause the diff deffinately sweetened the deal.
