Smallport 100kw 4age AE82 Hesitating

check your grounds are nice and clean
esp the one that goes from the head to the body (drivers side)
that gave me no end of dramas - until i figured it out that it was loose.

hm.. i've got this problem now..

and i've given up trying to diagnose it.. any other suggestions?

it sputters a bit between 2000 rpms to 3000 rpms (depending on throttle and load)

and again between 4000 and 5000 rpms (depending on throttle and load)..

might get the ignitors and coils bench tested once i can find someone.. the guy selling them here isn't answering his PMs and post.. also occassionally it's redline is less than 7800 rpms.. (more like 6800 rpms)..

Yes it is extremly gay!

I cleaned the contact of the efi main fuse and some of these other things in the fuse box in the engine bay. Helped a little. Try reseting you ecu.(battery off for a little while)

I still have no idea how to fix it. I might even take out the cold start injector and plate it, to see if thats leaking.

after half an hour of "testing" i've discovered the following

that stutter occurs between 2000 and 3000 rpms, throttle and load seems to affect it.. doesn't matter if it's revving up or slowing down.. minimal throttle and it seems to be non existant.. full throttle and it seems fine..

will try the ECU thing now.. updates tonight...

resetting the ECU doesn't do anything..

but driving without the aircon makes the hesistate less noticable..

oh well.. it's not bothering me coz it feels like a VTEC.... hesistates then it's fine again.. at full throttle it's not noticable...

air in the cooling system maybe? this happens to mr2's easily and has the same symptoms.

hm.. checked that.. there's none.. coolant's at the right level and it's bright green..

did a coolant leak test a while back, no leaks..

Yeah its not coolant issues however it may be a sensor issue for the coolant.

Im just waiting for a 4age to get to pick n payless and i'll rape all the sensors.

Well well well.. I finally fixed some of it.

I changed a few things so i dont know exactly what fixed it but its pretty much fixed. The only problem now is the hard starting

I changed with used parts:

* Coil (moved it aswell to cleaner earth)
* Ignitor (moved it aswell to cleaner earth)
* Fuel Pressure Regulator
* tested cold start injector
* Pulled out water sensors cleaned and put back in.(doubt that didnt anything at all)
* Changed the vaccum line to the map sensor and cable tied the lines.

Now to get to fixing the hard starting issues. Its over fueling im pretty sure. Because when its stone cold it starts first go. (morning)

But in the afternoon it requires a few pumps on accel( EFI remember ..weird)

Any ideas peoples? It only hard started after i changed the injectors the cleaned ones and the fuel filter.

*meh* mine was a problem with belt tension and the aircon... compressor needs to be rewired and earthed properly...

but yea i might just redo some of the wiring in the bay.... stereo stuff is coming out of the loom

is your TPS ok and positioned properly?

Im not sure if the TPS is setup still. Never touched it. Maybe i'll look into it.

I have an AE 82 parts car , once it warms up it hunts when idleing, and dies for half a second when coming off full throttle. Pretty sure it has a BHG I am thinking coolant sensor issue?

also will a AE92 (100 kw ) ECU work in an AE82? .. I am transplanting a smallport so if I can use the correct computer that would be a bonus.
