you might have issues with stalling after big WoT events (throttle snaps shut, no iscv to simulate effect of throttle dashpot)?
might only be a PITA during winter anyway?
Needing to know if i would need to run a idle control valve on a 2jzgte with a microtech. I know the microtech wont run the factory stepper motor, so i'd have too go for a ford or 4age iscv.
I installed a microtech on my sw20 mr2 with no idle control valve and it idle's fine. So would i be able to not run one on the 2jz.
The ecu is a microtech LTX-12s.

ive had a haltech run a 2jzgte without the idle motor and it was fine.
Adjust so it idles around 950-1000rpm and you shouldnt have a problem if its tuned ok, this will componsate for a/c, p/s etc
I run it now with teh idle motor and its much better, much better cold start, idles up with a/c turned on etc...
If your not fussed, you dont need to have it, try it, see how you like it, you can always add the 2 wire ford motor later on if needed.
The fun bit of Microleb - no idle control and you have to set the idle speed up a bit high, or let the Microleb do a not altogether brilliant job of idle control anyway. One other (crude) option is to use a solonoid valve as an air bypass, and have it turned on when cold, or AC on. Use the air bypass valve on the power steering pump also.
microleb and idle control this is going to be interesting

Thanks for the imput guys. I'll not run one and see how it goes. I'm not running AC so dont have too worry about that.

I have no ISCV on my microtech on 1jz. Starts first time everytime, idles fine. I have it set to about 1050rpm or so. Never any stalling issues even after backing off after WOT. I had an ISCV on my old wolf and it started like shit (3rd time every time ) and didn't do a very good job of keeping idle where I wanted it. It was a basic setup to open when cold and close when hot.
Doing the right thing by not worrying about it IMO especially if you don't have AC.
The LT8S and LT12S can only control idle if you are not using all the ignition drivers.
My LT8S is only using 2, so the other 2 are used for idle control.
The LT10S has 2 dedicated wires for idle control.
Mine is setup quite well with a 4AGE 20V ISCV.
Cold starts first time every time, about 1200rpm, then slowly drops over 60 seconds to its set speed of 700rpm.
If I rev it to 5000 or so and then take my foot off the accel, and let it drop quickly, it does stall, but I'm sure thats just due to using a 1.6L ISCV on a 4.0L motor (and microtech's dodgy control)

Its funny you say that, because i asked microtech if they could enable the idle control on the LT8S, and they say they can't do it....Originally Posted by CrUZida

Sorry for the necro, but can anyone advice me plz :-) (FYI i have a 7mge with a lt10s)
i have a lt10s, so 2 spare wires just for the IACV, does this mean i need a 2 wire IACV?
i am assuming yes, but if i can rewire the more slimline 6 wire subaru IACV's it would look a ton better and the stock 7m IACV is 6 wire (i think)?
thanks
