Hey, just use the TA22 strut tops on the RA23/28 springs and strut. Simplest conversion ever.
cheers Chuck.
Just looking for confirmation of this guys. iif you swap the entire strut on these, from an RA## to a Ta22, leaving the springs from the TA and the strut cap will make the RA struts bolt in with out making the car look jacked. ...will this cause the spring to jump around at all. or am i just remembering random pieces of wrong info from something els completely unrelated.Originally Posted by Born-Enthusiast

Search the Classic Celica dedicated thread, all the info on this set up has been covered in there. That thread is also where one directs TECH questions re Celica's.
Lets keep this thread for quick posts on IO.
cheers Chuck.

I've already said this in another thread somewhere. But yes it does jack up the front. reason RA's simply have a heavier front end (bigger engine and more steel). In a TA the car is ligter so the front sits higher I did this conversion myself if you want I'll post a thread on how to do it with pictures maybe. If there is a call for it.Originally Posted by 79GT

Had a quick search of this thread and could not see it here, so...
GZ20 and M/GA70 Brake MCs are identical...(All 3 are different to the JZA70 Brake MC)
Discovered recently when I found a GZ20 at my local wreckers and measured up the bolt pattern before purchasing...
Can anyone tell me the feasibility of putting a 3VZ engine in place of a 2VZ even using the 2VZ inlet manifold and efi?
Anyone got a spare engine?

22RE pressure plate fits 1G Gen1/2 flywheel perfectly.
Really oddball thing, but might help someone out. 18R and 4M share the same cam bearings. Late one night after collecting the 18R head from the machinist, I noticed a gouge in one of the cam bearings, oh shit, need the car tomorrow! I knew I had recently rebuilt a 4M, and still had all the old bits and pieces in a bucket ready to toss out. The cam bearing shell was a perfect fit, car was up and running a couple of hours later.
cheers Chuck.

Here's an obscure one; a friend of mine has an 86 Century (VG40) and one of the air shocks in the back has been leaking for a while which means the back of the car sits stupidly low and bottoms out all the time. No-one wants to rebuild it (it's a pretty weird assembly) and we didn't even want to know how much Toyota would charge for a new one, assuming they're still available. Anyway on a hunch we measured some MS112 Crown shocks we found at Supercheap and guess what, perfect fit! Add some slightly modified VS Commodore springs and you're good to go, minus air suspension.

I want to put an 18RC into an st141 that had a 2s originally, anyone give me any tips?
like what sort of replacement accelerator cable be needed and any other things I may need to know.
Thanks.
Here's a tip - don't do it! The 2S is a much nicer and more potent engine.Originally Posted by Mechman36

210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.
here's another tip.. not in this thread
and yeah, 18r-g would be a better option
