yeha using my old exuast, but i had a look at the cat while it was out and it looked perfect, could see thru all the tiny holes.

I've thought about the fuel pressure regulator, but for both engines to have out of wack fuel pressure regulators, i spose its possible, but i thought these things were pertty darn reliable. But yeah it's a possibilty.
Strange thing is the 1jz was perfect on the first test drive, really potent lots of power, and now i can't even spin them up realy in any gear, wheras before it was too easy to spin teh wheels up by accident. So it's gotta be the ECU compensating for the lack of fuel it's getting now. I tried to take the fuel pump out, and ended up taking the fuel level sender out instead, just relized the tank has to come out to get to the fuel pump, weekend job -

The overheating could very well be from running too lean, once i boost the temp guage starts climbing up. The heat coming out of the exuast is very hot! i've never felt exuast this hot before, at idle it's sufficiently hot to burn your skin within a few seconds even tho i have my hand a good few inches away fromt he exuast tip.
I remember a simular situation with my cousins beam 3sge, and once the fuel filter was changed it was a perfect engine and soo much smoother and more free revving.

Also possible the microfilter is blocked up as it's never been changed as far as i know.

as luk would have it importbitz are out of stock of the walboro 255

if its running too hot and low on power also check the iginition timing is correct. Because retatarded ignition will cause loss of power and higher than normal exhaust temps.

    just another thought.

yeah thats a good point, i know i had the timing spot on with the old motor becuase i had a timing light, How would i check/adjust the timing on a 1jz with these coil packs? need a special timing light?
