Default help the new guy :)

    Hi,
Sorry if this is a common question, i did a search but couldn't find the info i was after..

I was wondering whether there are any similarities between 18rc's and 18rg's.. i.e: will a twin cam 18rg head bolt onto an 18rc? what are the pros and cons of doing this?? are there any other parts from other more common toyota engines that might be of some help in the conversion??

Am i right in guessing it would be difficult to source a 18rg motor in melbourne these days?? where would i begin looking for one and how much do they normally go for in decent running condition?

    Any help would be great!

    Mate,
the 18RC-RG conversion has been covered quite a few times. Its not worth it. I could go into all the detail on that one AGAIN(ive put it up on this forum once, and on the old forums a couple of times) but i just hope you will take my word for it. 18RGs can be found. Ive currently got one for sale, with quite a bit of work done. Check the classifieds under engines accessories and drivelines(you can view them and post in them, just not start a new thread) basically, i am after $1300firm and i can find out freight to melbourn if you would like. pm me if your interested, but check out my post in the classifieds.

On another part of this, the 18RG will bolt into where the 18RC did, just have to modify the exhaust and sort out the throttle setup. Mine is selling with the cable throttle setup including pedal that i used in my RA23.
