AE92 SX 20v Temperature Guage

I got an ae92 sx with a 20v installed and have been attempting to fix the issues that it came with. My cuurent problem is that the temperature guage does not appear to be working at all, and I think that it is important to fix.

So I suppose what I would like to know is:

*Is the 20v silvertop temp sender compatible with the sx temperature guage?
*Location of the temp sender (It looks like its on the thermostat housing but not sure)
*Wire colours?
*Whether the guage hooks directly to the sender or whether its goes to the ecu?

Sorry for all the questions, but I'm without any wiring diagrams and can't find much on the forums.

There will be a separate sensor that goes to the ECU.
The wire for the temp sender will be a pretty obvious one, it will be single wire spade type connector around the water junction/thermostat housing. Should be easy to pick as I think it's the only single wire one there

20v temp gauge sensor should work ok

i bet you havnty hooked up the earth for the temp gauge

toyota did a stupid thing
the earthf or the temp gauge is on the block not behind the dash

so pull the dash out and find the earth wire for the temp gauge and earth it somewhere
