stitt got a kit (IAPAIDEKI) from hopper stoppers that is pretty beefcake PM him he'll be happy to divulge the info
Hi
Starting to collect information for the old crown so when it comes time to start working her I'm not left in the dark.
Is there any fairly straight forward brake upgrade whinch people might know about that will meet the required stopping power for a 1uz?? Any info will be a great start.
Cheers
Alex

Maybe some of these might help as well.

if you get the later 112 or 123 crown hub assembly then lose the disc an AU Falcon disc will fit over the studs and the 300ZX caliper will bolt up to the caliper holes in the upright.
just need some longer studs for the wheels and a change of the bottom(?) ball joint to fit them from memory.
My sig has been pruned as it was over 5 lines long.
Simplest option is HQ Holden rotors and calipers. Buy undrilled rotors (they come with an integral hub) and you need to machine the back of them slightly to work.
I like the AU disc/300ZX caliper combo though, especially if there is little machining involved.

One trick for young players though.
If your MS55 has front drum brakes, then the upright will not have the caliper mounting bracket. You will need to source MS55 disc brake uprights which had bolt on caliper brackets (of which there were two different sorts - Jap and AMI) or source some MS65 uprights (which bolt straight up to an MS55 and have the caliper bracket cast into the upright).
Also just noticed you want to put a 1UZ in there. Might want to do a search on the forums - in particular my car - to see what you're up against.![]()
Hmm good question I was given this car buy a person who works at sims metal it was going to be squashed and it has one dint no rust full log book history. So Its sitting in my shed and I've not even look at what type of brakes it has all i know it a delux '1969' Australian model. I'll have to look at it when I return form my trip away.
Where is your car I must be blind or sillycan you supply a link or directions please gianttomato
Cheers

Your Deluxe should have the Jap spec disc brakes - Sumitomo 2 spot calipers (not dissimilar to the Corona RT104).
I 'dropped' a 1UZ into my MS46 wagon - it was a 9 month project which involved a rack and pinion conversion and transmission tunnel mods. Bit of a ball breaker but worth the effort IMHO. It's in the members rides section.
