Default Huntley Hill Climb - 1st April 2007.

Hey all, the Huntley Hill-Climb is on again on the 1st of April.

It's a great event held by the Wollongong Sporting Car Club. This event is 50 minutes south of Sydney near Dapto and only costs $70 to enter. You will need a CAMS license and need to be a member of a CAMS approved club.

There's a few Sprinters heading down, as well as the usual Hill-Climb suspects.

    Here is the link: http://www.wscc.org.au

Hope to see some Toyotas there, and also Rona should come, it's like he's fallen off the face of the Earth lol.

    Cheers, Daniel.

Haha rona sees your thread but he won't be there as I have a group meeting for a uni assignment that day .

That being said I doubt I'd improve on my times from last time because my new rear tyres have less grip then the bald ones I used last time

PS Huntley rocks you will have lots of fun and theres always some interesting cars to have a perve on
    If in doubt power out

Sounds tempting.. Been wanting to try my hand at a hill-climb for a while but I think being the week before Dubbo I might need to try and save some beans.. Renewing club membership and license all at once is expensive
    Cheers,

I might come up with the mrs and have a look see. Been to a few of the events at the Collingrove Hillclimb in SA and theres always a good turnout of older cars and hillclimb specials.

did anyone come to the hillclimb yesterday...I was in the tower at the esses doing the announcing all day - so I probably wouldn't have seen anyone. If you were there you would have heard how many times I stuffed it up. lol. Great day, no incidents or dramas, just good clean hillclimbing.

There were 4 sprinters there...1 Adm stock one driven by a 16 year old (hasn't even got his L's), 1 ADM with a 20V 4AGE (similar to my old car) a JDM Levin Coupe and a JDM Trueno Hatch....maybe I started something. From memory their best times were 39.20, 31.55, 32.50 & 37.50 respectively.

Seeing the different lines that people take and watching people improve over the day was good, almost half the field set their fastest time on their last run.

I didn't get a chance to have a chat afterwards, I saw all your runs from the tower, I reckon you'll need to do something about the rear end, it's hopping around alot coming out of the esses, probably still a bit stiff - and the locker probably isn't helping so much either. What springs are you running F/R?

How were your launches on the runs? You seemed to be attacking the first corner in the esses quite well, what's it like through the fork? Do you back off?

my take offs need work mainly because its hard to change gears at high revs, then im in 3rd around the 1st corner and 4th for the fork then 3rd for the esses then 4th over the line
in the last run i kept it in third, probably was better but the motor was hurting was said to be putting out alot of smoke

as for the rear ive got another welded stocker in there and chopped falcon springs , would love to get something better for the next meet
anyways i will be drifting on monday so after that its time for a w58 and hilux diff

is my line through the esses on the right track ,tried to watch the good cars but hard to tell from the fork
