Other cars fitted with S series globally -

TE71 - some, particularly NZ new with 2TB

Some mob called OBX do a "helical" LSD, which is a Torsen copy AFAIK. Relatively cheap, but further reading I did some time ago suggests they can be difficult to set up (casting / machining not perfect). Try EBay. Apparently their returns policy is OK.

Clutch pack diffs are far better than torson( I have used both for years) . As long as a clutch pack has the correct oil and it is changed occasionally it will last for years. No diff will last long if you insist on loading it up ( as in burnout with one wheel on the dirt).
By the way have a clutch pack "T" series for sale. Zenki axle type (24.5mm) rebuilt with 4.3 ratio. (new bearings, seals etc).

    Andrew,
That center did you open it?
I have been trying to find out info about how many plates/ spacers are inside them and what the stock ramp angle is?
Alot of BMW LSDs have 2 plate but can accomidate up to 5 in some cases which allows for greater locking and less wear im just curious if that can be done with one of the toyota diffs,
and ramp angle is just casue im curious

There is not a lot of point shimming up a diff with ramps as the ramps control preload. I used to shim up one of my diffs to 120 ft lb then one day I actually looked at the way it worked and there was no need. It worked as well at 40 ft lb. This diff has 5 plates in each end + a conical washer. I have some other info on TRD diffs but I cant get it to upload to a post.

What i mean in regards to spacers is that BMWs eliminate 2 plates and put steel plates in, you can remove the steel plates and put 2 extra discs in,
but 5 plates is good, what sort of ramp angle do you use, i found a gentler angle + a tiny bit more preload works better than lower preload and more angle

For the Toyota LSDs as found in AE86's you can get various thickness plates, which lock it more, or less. I think technotoytuning sell the thickest, or second to thickest kit available - which is an original toyota item.
