Its a single cam in need of a rebuild, in an RT72. There's others as well. Will be having a good look through them tomorrow.
The SU carbs strapped to the side would be worth tripple what the rest of the motor is worth... plus some. I can't imagine too many single cam R family motors being worth much, as they weren't exactly rare, and not too many have died yet (comparitive to the rate of failure of 202's etc)

Make sure you also keep the manifold. May be worth checking the cam to see if it is a regrind... if it is lumpy enough, then it could be considered a keeper (also for that matter check down the spark holes for lumpy pistons). Could just be a carb upgrade, or could have been a heavily worked motor.

Does anyone know if the SU carbs and manifold will fit a 5R?
