Exactly, there's more power to be made or lost by what on the intlet and exhaust sides of the head, than what in the head itself.

Intresting debate after all of that i think i tend to lean towards the bigport 16v due it's big ports, simplicity & i think just being a more reliable head to use, i'm thinking now of extensive porting, cams & o/s valves, big plenum money better spent there than on a 20v. Don't get me wrong it sounds great having a 20v turbo with it's vvti & all i think its better suited for NA.

I thought you said you were aiming for 200kw. I take it we are talking at the wheels ?

All the mods you have listed will go alot further than that.

All you need to make 250 rwkw is a bigport head and big port cams + around 24 psi boost.

I wouldnt bother with the OS valves and cams they arent needed to make good power.
Spend your money on a decent turbo as the T28 you have will struggle over 200kw wt the treads

That wont give you any more power out of the turbo.

Depends on how much you can afford but if you were gonna do cams plenumn O/S valves etc i guess if you dont do them this will be no prob.

    I agree with that.
I make just over 200kw with mine and it is quite modified and maxed out on flow.
For what the turbo itself now owes me I wish I had got something bigger, better, and cheaper.

Dont flame me everyone but, i got my 20v blacktop head flowed along with my 7afe head and considering they had the same intake systems and cam profile, the blacktop only flowed 2hp more then the 7afe. The blacktop and 7afe heads inlet ports look like brothers, very straight and sit on a very nice angle for KW's the smallports inlet ports are very flat, yeah they are big, but the design isnt as good as the blacktops, plus the blacktop boosts vvt which will allow the use of higher lift cams without suffering low down, which will help the boost come on lower in the RPM range.

So if you want a Huge flowing Dyno king use the bigport, but if you want a very usable power curve/street driver use the blacktop.
