Autospeed did some flowbenching of a bunch of intercoolers in a story called 'the world's biggest intercooler comparsion'.

The JZA70 intercooler allowed 265cfm to enter and 252cfm to exit the intercooler.

So thats a 5% flow drop on the test.

I have no idea how this would relate to a pressure drop across the core, however at 23psi i think its safe to say you are exceeding the design expectations of the cooler and an aftermarket one will flow alot better.

    23psi?!?

From what I've read on the various supra/1jz forums (which are not necessarily reliable) and also from previous thhreads on toymods, the numbers 13-17psi are thrown around as the most boost you would want to run on a stockie. I guess with big fmics so cheap these days the question is why wouldn't you upgrade?

i have found alot of the time even wat i would have thought was reliable sources seem 2 b wrong often "zoom hpi". all i know is wat ive tried myself im running a turbonetics t58 p-trim .58 a/r turbo on extractors i made, 4inch exhaust, a 45mm inovate wastegate 440cc injectors at 65psi fuel press jst tapped top of regulator till got desired fuel pres.1.7bar map sensor, o44 pump and a emanage ultimate that i have rd tuned with zectronic wideband and set of knock hedphones running on 95ron ulp(crap) with 10% methonol prior 2 running met mix would get mild det around 16-17 psi .nw quite at 23psi planning 2 upgade 2 550cc after intercooler. I have been told my exhaust housing is to small, running 2 mutch boost, that i should be using different reg all sorts of things that wen i actually pressure testd wernt true. apart frm having factory pump fail i hav had no other problems. so far lol touch wood

You do need to change the intercooler next if you have gone to the trouble of going the single turbo route.
