Default People with superstrut brakes please read

Okay, went to trial fit my superstruts off my ae82 onto my ae112 and heres what i found.

The rotors are 262mm but the pad never went right to the end, this is how the superstrut set up looked when bolted up to the ae112, this is superstrut 262 rotors with the superstrut pads and caliper mount., pad is like 2mm from the edge of the pad.

Now this is my standard ae112 rotor which is like 255ish , fits perfect? so why run 262..thoughts is the pad placement vs rotor due to possilbe different bolt hole postions on the hub??

the other thing to consider Mr Poggy is the thickness of the AE112 disc.
Remember that the superslut disc is quite thick.
Also, 255 vs 262 is around 7mm difference, or around 3-4mm difference in pad position relative to the edge of the disc.

Also remember that you can buy the DBA743 discs VERY cheap from Toymods, like $130 for the pair. You just need to get them machined.

    ... more info for you

AE112 disc thickness is 22mm, 255mm diam, 55mm centre hole
Superstrut disc thickness is 25mm, 262mm diam (to fit for conversion), 54mm centre hole

Therefore the superstrut caliper is incorrectly matched to the AE112 disc.
Just buy some DBA743 discs from toymods, get them machined down to 262mm and re-drilled, and get the centre hole machined out to 55mm so that they will fit onto your AE112 centre locator thingy.

Here is the DBA catalogue. http://www.dba.com.au/2006/PDF_CATAL...e_01052008.pdf
Compare the DBA743 (celica GT4 front disc) to the DBA709 (AE112 front disc).

thats cos they are 3-4 years old, and in need of replacement.

Min thickness for superslut DBA743 discs = 23mm
    min thickness for AE112 DBA709 discs = 20mm

    BUY NEW DISCS YA BUM
