    Default Hilux lpsv adjustment.

HI, Does anybody know how to adjust the lpsv, (BRAKE BIAS) in a 2000 hilux? Also should the bar running from the valve to the axle have a bow in it? Thanks.

yes it should have a bow in it
what you need to do is get some brake pressure gauges and measure the pressure applied to the front brakes(when pushing the brake pedal)
and read the gauge for the rear pressure and adjust it to the specs in the manual
if you need to know what the specs are i can get them for you

also there is another way but it is quite dodgy
if you have put a load in the back or have lowered it just adjust the lspv rod until the brakes feel near even like the fronts just lock up before the rears
it may take a bit of stuffing around but it works

One of my firends has a problem with the back brakes locking up too early causing skidding when on a wet road. I though the rod for the lspv might be bent. I've never seen a brake gauge, I reckon its only the sort of thing a brake specalist might warrant spending cash on. If you have the spec that would be excellant, thanks.

if it is locking up, then adjust the bar so it is further away from the body.

If it isn't braking enough, then move the bar closer to the body.

The bend in the bar is normal as well.
