I couldn't get the day of fwork
have a good day guys
Hi,
The annual NRMA Motofest is being held on Australia Day. I know there's a few Toymod people entering their cars, and I assume a few that may visit and check out the largest car show in the southern hemisphere.
For those that have entered, are we going together and are we putting our cars together in the show?

Hi,
Thanks Dad. We'll be good lads and will try not to put the club into ill repute.

Hi,
Top day. Lots of lovely cars and the 4 cars that were there on behalf of Toymods attracted a lot of attention and many people took our flyers and cards and showed a great interest in the club. Both Dave and myself too some pics - and a lot of people took pics of our cars and asked a lot of quetions.
I was surprised there were no RA23s or RA28s!!!!!!!!!
I can add more, but I'm going to bed now 'cos I'm red and sore and feel like my face and arms have been cooked.

I must say.. The show was freakin' huuuuge! Was great seeing a few of the Toymods cars on display, as well as the rest of the Toyotas (and just about everything classic & shiny really, regardless of badge).
Can't wait to see some photos online 'cos I'm sure there were probably more than a few cars that I didn't get around to seeing.
Like AE92GTi said it was a huge day, the crowd was non stop All day from start to finish.
The organisation of getting all the cars & displays in place was unmatched. Even departing the show was well organised, I was back home less then 1 hour after the show ended.
It was good to see a few of the non entrants turn up to have a look & a chat.
Dave must have taken heaps of photos so hopfully they will go up somewhere for us all to see.(even the non car ones that got taken).
Walking around with Steve & Shane was like a walk down memory lane with the old cars & bikes.(so many I have owned), and yes some of them were older then River & myself.
Just 2 photos I took of our cars. The stage was just behind us so we had music all day.
Kirsty2520, cover up more next time and you wont burn so much, my face got burnt.
If it feels good "DO IT" Unless it harms others.(or upsets the RTA)
Enjoy what you have To Day,cause you can't take it with you.

Congatulations to everyone representing Toymods yesterday, the cars looked great and you guys are great ambassadors for the club. It was a great event with a hell of a lot of people being exposed to the club and what it stands for.
Other than the toyotas, a 67 (Eleanor) Shelby Cobra Mustang was the high light for me.
I would've liked to go but went Wollongong Instead... Too many things happening on the same day all the time ...
Ben...

Hi,
Yeah I got the photos still in my camera. I think I got some of the shovel noses, the TE27 and that KE10 (or was it KE15 - sorry, you'll have to excuse my lack of Corolla knowledge) that was original - still had the same tryes, same everything and it had only done 20,000km!!! Wonderful little car.
When I get back to Sydney in mid-late March I'll dump the photos to... to... to where????
There was this annoying old modified-yellow-Hi-Ace-owning bloke that hung around me most of the day and talked about all the old cars and bikes he used to ride. A few old molls walked past and he reckoned he had ridden them too. He was friendly enough, but he shoulda kept his fly done up. Chasing women and children down the street with his whanger whopping and shouting "Join the Club", was, I thought, a little excessive. But, he did seem to enjoy himself so we let him be.
And.. and that freaky guy from Al Palmers (last year's show) was there too and he's freakier than ever. The old bloke that hung around me all day thinks this guy's a freak also and I could see the little map of Japan become visible on his forehead everytime the freak opened his mouth and waffled on.
Pretty-boy El Presidente turned up with this red-Indian chick. Maybe she was a nornal chick that was very sunburnt. I'm still peeling so I wonder how she's going.
There was the old dude with the 67 Rona ute who had the right idea and packed his ute with an esky full of ice and cold beer. He also showed us some customised Toyota Car Club number plate frames. Very nice.
Lots of old jallopies. I loved the leather strap fan belts. Some had these massive engines that generated about 40hp. I measured them up and I'm sure they'd fit into Lambo's AE86 so he can toss that 1GGTE of his. Some of these old cars had valve-radios - marvellous stuff, but I didn't see any 8-track players.
There was a Datto fairlady, lots of EH, EK, FB and a couple of FJ holdens. A lovely XU-1 and some other 70s cars. DOn't think I saw an E49 which disappointed me a little. Saw a 1979 Escort or something like that, which I'm sure didn't impress MAD79R 'cos he could of brought his blue beast along.
The E-type Jags were parked in front of us. Some nob-tosser made sure his bonnet was open to show off his puny V12. Needless to say he skulked off when I raised the hood of the 25 and the whole place stopped and gasped in awe at the mighty 18RG. I shut the bonnet after a few chicks passed out and some young men creamed their pants. Even the old bloke that hung around got a bit ornery. The freak just kept muttering "I have bone" repeatedly and wandered off into the swooning crowd.
Many times I had to talk to people about the Yellow and Red rollas ('cos the owners were too slack and spent the day oggling at chicks) so I told people the drag pics were photochops and the Dyno graphs were made up and the Hi-Ace and the RA25 could lick them easily. And, oh yeah, they had fake turbos and were just engine-orientated rice boys.
Well, that's enough raconteuring from this old fella, except... WTF were you Rona? You should of come. There were plenty of hot cars and sweaty chicks - you would of gone mad.
My next report will be about the Adelaide Toyota Show.
