    Default Mystery JZA70 Plug... Anyone know what it does?

    Anyone know what normally plug's into this?. I've been told it leads to somewhere above the waterpump where there is a male plug. I am 99% certain I don't have the said plug (looked everywhere), Spiller on this forum confirmed his is connected up though.

    The Plug in question

    It's home in the bay (circled)

    On my car it looks like it hasn't been connected for a while, the inside of the plug is very black.

    Thinking its a JZA70 thing that wasn't need when the conversion was done *confused*

    Unfortunately I can't recall if it used to be connected or not before the engine came out.

    plug style and location looks very similar to the speed sensetive powersteering solenoid plug on an JZX81, the ABS sensor plugs are also similar to these.

    Yep indeed.. here is the PS solenoid plug circled in green. I've found that connector and that is in the same location where this other one is meant to connect.

    Green = PS plug (female)
    Red = Mystery plug (female)

    yeah it was... i think it mightve been to one of those "resistor" type things you bolt to a ground point, but im not entirely sure.

    on the 1J theres not much there, just lights, the air filter, and the hydraulic fan resorvoir.

    so if it isnt the lights, you dont need it.

    a cressida has a plug like it around same area

    it is for the 2 speed fuel pump resistor

    just bridge the wires if its for that

    if the wires are thick blue wire with maybe a red or a black trace then its fuel pump wires
    for resistor

    What are the wire colours?

    It could also be the ABS sensor plug - there is a grommet on the strut tower where the other side could poke through to the wheel.

    IIRC the fuel pump resistor and relay join to the yellow(ish) plugs near the cruise control actuator, but I could be wrong as it's been a awhile...
