    Default Diff choice for my ae86

    Hi guys i am from darwin and i was wondering what would be the best thing to do for my rear end for the sprinter i just have the auzzie open wheeler in there now but need two wheels just some choices and some placers to look

    only good thing the aus diff is for, is to lock it.
    Otherwise JDM sprinter diff or modified T18 diff are the most common.

    what do u have to do 2 the t18 diff to get it to fit about from using the rear piece of the t18 tail shaft

    Ok, as per many other threads (you should search), the T18 bolts up directly. It requires you to change over the hand brake cable from the old S-series, and also use the rear half of the T18 tailshaft. If you dont get one with swaybar mounts pre-fitted then you will need to cut your old S-series mounts off and get them welded on.

    With the T18 handbrake cable:
    They CAN be used. I once did a t18 changeover late at night and getting the cables changed over is always a bit of a hassle. So what you can do if your lazy is leave the cables on and on the actual handbrake itself take off the 2 tightening nuts and put a whole bunch of larger nuts (that fit over the thread pattern) and then tighten the two nuts. This effectively pulls the cable further through the nuts and voi la. Works perfectly.
