Default 1G NA cams with factory pulley

I have read in the forum that you will get about 30 hp increase if you use the 1GGE NA cams in the GTE.

For those who are running this setup, could you share whether you are using the " non-adjustable" factory single-pin-hole pulley or it's achieved with the factory "adjustable" pulley (with 3 pin-holes?)
If so, what position is the pin on the inlet and outlet cam? ( 10/12/2 o'clock )

    Thank you in advance.

I don't have the 1g-ge cams in my engine, although I am selling a set.

I will be running aftermarket cams, so it's a bit different
    BUT
I dont' think the 'adjustable' cam gears with the three pin holes are really there for the reason that you're suggesting.

They are there to handle different cam configs I think, rather than the few degrees difference you're after with the 1g-ge cams.

I've heard of people using both standard cam gears AND adjustable cam gears with ofcourse the adjustable cams giving the better output.

Have you seen the adjustable cam gears for sale in the "forcefed performance" section of the for sale section? Its under "forum sponsors".

Just thinking of advancing the inlet for a bit of bottom end improvement as I got a set of NA cams with the 3 pin holes pulley, to install by end of the month.

Thomasbl : yes I saw, very nice. Ours here look like this, not as nice but serve the purpose.

That's how they are from the factory mate, I had 4 sets here, and all looked identical to the above, except without the rust of the above.

I kinda meant with the bolt holes drilled and tapped...

1 vs 3 holes, apparently its to adjust for when the head gets skimmed, you can dial the cams back in to their rough oem spec. Could be a early/late model change thing.

plent of meat left in those, ive seen worse and they didnt fail.
fwiw a high tensile 6mm bolt should theoreticaly hold 500kg in shear(not that id bet my life on it) so the meat left around those (2-3mm a side by the look of them) should be plenty.
    cheers
