I had the same problem as you a while back and had to use a razor blade to carefully get between the sump and the scraper plate. Just worked the way around with the razor blade between the bolts.
Came off easy after that, but took a while to do.

ive tried sticking a flatblade in there but there isnt any room to get one between the windage tray and anything also tried a razor blade but wont get in there ill have to give it another try
sweet yld-16l that comforting to know its not just me lol
i think ill perserver (spelling) with the razor blade
Almost, its persevere.
You can also use a paint scraper for a larger edge. Just dont use a flatblade, as it will dent the lip of the sump.

sweet paint scraper that makes sense just bump it in there with a soft hammer?
The tough part is getting the blade/paint scraper to push through the sealant and not hit into the edge of the windage tray.

yeah thats the problem im having atm i dont really care too much about the sump as its damaged neways but the windage tray im concerned about bending
Just keep trying different spots around the sump until you get the blade right in then work from there.

sweet thanks again ill have another crack now
Don't lever too hard and bend the sump - a thin, sharp knife is your friend.
i use a chisel...
knock it in, lever down a lil, move around a bit, just work myself around.
never had an issue with windage trays to be honest..

ok got it off by breaking the gasket with a paint scraper all round except for the gearbox side as the dust cover made it difficult then tapped a screwdriver gently and twisted to get a gap in there so i could pull on it then hey presto off it came thanks everyone for all the help
