Jimmy a little flat blade inbetween the sump and the base and slide it around the sump lip as far as possible to break the seal

I had the same problem as you a while back and had to use a razor blade to carefully get between the sump and the scraper plate. Just worked the way around with the razor blade between the bolts.

Came off easy after that, but took a while to do.

    Almost, its persevere.

You can also use a paint scraper for a larger edge. Just dont use a flatblade, as it will dent the lip of the sump.

The tough part is getting the blade/paint scraper to push through the sealant and not hit into the edge of the windage tray.

Just keep trying different spots around the sump until you get the blade right in then work from there.

Don't lever too hard and bend the sump - a thin, sharp knife is your friend.

    i use a chisel...
knock it in, lever down a lil, move around a bit, just work myself around.

never had an issue with windage trays to be honest..

ok got it off by breaking the gasket with a paint scraper all round except for the gearbox side as the dust cover made it difficult then tapped a screwdriver gently and twisted to get a gap in there so i could pull on it then hey presto off it came thanks everyone for all the help

Hmm i was going to suggest a rubber mallet on the sump hitting down ways then if you get atleast one spot open use the previous suggestions.
