wtf?! 18RG came in RA celicas with the same brakes. So brake upgrade shouldnt be nesacary. Although it is always a wise investment

Corona XT130 has twin piston calipers which is a good small brake upgrade... just grab a pair of them ... they bolt in.

    The 18RG bit, i didn't know.

But. XT130's DO NOT come with twin piston calipers. They come with Girlock single pistons. The only reason i know this, i drive one... lol @ me

However xt130 struts can be used for peugeot rotor/ hilux caliper brake upgrade, which kicks ass apparently.

RT132 liftback definitly come with and some XT130's do come with the sumitomo twin pistons calipers

make sure u take the strut hub and disc with u too.

EDIT: ohh yeah and agree with nathan wtf 18R-C to 18R-G wouldnt need a brake upgrade an engine change certificate should do.

With the 1ggte conversion, does anyone have any of the technical articles that used to float around. I know of the one on the old toymods website which can't be viewed anymore. There was also one on the net which i cant find anymore either . I didnt save any of them because i did not have the time or money to do it but now that i do i cant find any of them. .

If you have any technical articles please let me know and i'll pm you my email address.

Dont know how relevant it is to you, but I just had a ra60/ 1ggte engineered and the brakes were fine. Cost of engineering $650
    Good luck!

I got my 2JZ-GTE conversion engineered with stock MA61 brakes which are pretty much the same as RA60 brakes but with rear discs. It was explained to me that anything post-1977 (when some brake-related ADR was introduced) doesn't need a brake upgrade provided the engine conversion falls within the weight-related guidelines. Not sure if that's still the case but it was 5 years ago.

yup, plain old RA60 set up! They are pretty good anyways. I will stick a disk rear end in when this one breaks. lol Probably not far away.
