its all pretty much self explanatory once you take the door trim off...
most likely have to wind the motor gear manually to get it up.

Howdy people, the electric window on my passenger side is stuck down neither of the switches will move it up proberly. It had been stuffing up since i've got it deciding when it wants to work or not. Now it isn't working at all and it's stuck down.
Question is how can i fix it or manually wind the window up? thanks

Yeh like Eldar said youll need to take the trim off and then i'd suggest undo a couple of the bolts that hold the motor and the window gear mechanism together then get the window to the top, hold it there, and then bolt the motor back in so it mesh's and holds the window up there.
However, in my experience taking windows out and putting them in you have to wind the window up and down to get to the bolts so whether you can do my above suggestion in another thing.
Since i'm assuming your gunna eventually fix it when you have some time maybe just take the motor out and jam some timber in your foor to hold it up. Probably easier.
Out of coincidence when the motor in my corolla died i got a suziki swift one and it bolted straight in and the plug was the same. The only problem was the polarity was reversed so when i pushed down it went up and vice versa.

also if its just the switch that is buggered you should be able to disconnect the switch and then bridge the wires for the motor and power it up that way, shouldnt you?
Presumably they're just DC motors, so you could probably supply 12V to the correct pins on the motor to put it up, and avoid the whole switching system (since the fault may not simply be the switches themselves).
Chances of it being the motor are more probable but it could be switches also. Maybe some multimetering needs to be done.

the switches tend to die though.
unless the switch died, kept the motor locked on, and killed the motor?
just whack 12v into it, as had been said and see, it'll take two minutes.
mine are slow as hell, the ones on our new camry are quiet and quick, im hoping they're similar so i can replace them when mine die

yeah i think it's the switch. I pulled the switch out and the thing that moves the metal switches is worn out. i can get it to go down easy but going up still doesnt work properly. Guess i'll find another switch from someone, wouldn't like to try ring toyota up and see what bs price they throw at me.

How worn out? If its just a metal contact & there's still metal there, just a light sand with a dishwasher scourer will fix that & hey presto, copper onto copper again instead of copper onto corrosion.
Total cost. Dunno 15c?
i had this same problem and it actually burnt out my whole motor. what was happening was that the lil metal blade that makes the widow go up auto wasnt wanting to go back up and was getting stuck in the up position. this caused the window to not function at all. i took switch apart and sanded back the metal blade so it just fell in and out with ease and wolla all done.
in your case might be other way around. have a look at the blde to see it it pops back up again. if not thats your problem.
i also had this problem, just sanded the metal contacts and they work like new again.
There is also another trick guys you can do to your drivers door.
As you all know they have auto down function. You can give it an auto up function by removing the switch, then on the 'up' side of switch is a little black tab. Cut this off and then it allows you to have auto up aswell.!!!
mine has auto up and down already
think ozzy delivered ones didnt, might have been a safety itemOriginally Posted by Whiplash
