Wink Is a 2TG rocker cover gasket same as a 3TGTE?

    Hey guys,
Im finally getting my act together and doing what needs to be done to get my baby running, only thing is i took off the rocker cover gasket and shes split in half, i aint doing a dodgy (just so noone suggests just using gasket goo) so i need a replacment. I know i can get everything from stewart wilkins motorsport but i need it on monday and no one in townsville has a listing for the 3tgte, so i just need to know if they are the same as a 2tgeu?

    Cheers
    Scott

Even if the outer section is the same, the inner section that runs around the sparkplug holes will be completely wrong because of the 8 vs 4 setup.

Well the rocker cover gasket i took out only run along the edges, the spark plug holes had a different gasket altogether, well thats what i found when i pulled it apart, any more thoughts on this?

Now i'm not sure what you're asking exactly...... Yes, the gasket is in two parts, one that runs around the outer edge of the valve cover (which looks similar to the 2TG one), and a separate inner gasket that only runs around the spark plug holes.

Do you want to replace both, or one only?

The last genuine 3TGTE valve cover gasket set I bought from Toyota was around $105, and was neoprene synthetic rubber not cork like some aftermarket gaskets.

thats all i was wondering, i thought it would have to be a two piece gasket, as i only need to replace the outer one. But i got onto stewart wilkens motorsport and a complete VRS kit is only 296, so i think in the long run i would be better off going with that...Unless someone out there has a good 3tgte rocker cover gasket they want to part with?
    Thanks again guys

    lol

thinking man would have realised i actually didn't neg rep anyone
the subtleties of humour seem lost on you
though your control of language and comic wit are beyond reproach
"go blindfold yourself and go play on the highway" lol five gold stars for this man

but then i suppose you also were not bright enough to think that four plugs compared with eight plugs might represent a problem

so perhaps the oversight is mine in not anticipating this outcome

ps. my rep stick is bigger than yours

    Agreed.
No rockers = no rocker cover.
    They're cam covers.

(no neg rep to anyone though. )
