20v into ae71, cant find ignitor?

hi guys,
Iam verry close to completing my 20v conversion, its in an ae71 and is using factory management with the origional dizzy setup( and a hole in the firewall ).
Iwas in a frenzy of excitement when i pulled the motor from the front cut and failed to check that all was there, now that i have the motor in the car, fuel, intake, water and everything else except the loom done and i see that there is nothing attatched to the end of the (coil/ignitor) lead.
i have searched the engine bay thoroughly and cant find anything that resembles something that looks like its meant to go there.
My question is what does it look like, where is it located in a 20v fnt cut, and is there any part off a more common car from aus that i can source it from if i have no luck finding it?

I can't do anything about getting you a photo from my car at the moment, but it's a small metal rectangular box about the size of a packet of cigarettes, and it should've been situated right near the coil?

I'm not familiar enough with the frontcut setup, but if you picture the way the loom was in the car, the configuration should narrow the search area down considerably (assuming you know which plug on the loom it is)

It should be attached to the same bracket at the coil, and i think the starter relay?

ok, in that case i have no coil either, im assuming it used to be in the general area of the left hand shock tower...?
ok then now i guess this will turn into a wtb thread...
could a mod please move it if its a prob?

I recall being told a guy used a Starlet coil and ignitor in a 20V conversion - prolly easier to source than the 20V item.

Speak to "SteveAE86" from Adelaide - he'll let you know exactly what model Starlet is the good stuff!

You should also be able to use AE92 SX ignitor and coil. The part numbers off the blacktop ignitor which we pulled out of a halfcut and my spare 100kw one are the same.

There will be no problems using a 100kW item, so long as the pinouts are the same arrangement as the 20V one.

Guys, both my coil and ignitor from my 100kw are different to my 20V ones, when doing the conversion i checked them out, and they were definately different. It wasn't just part numbers and loom plugs, it was specs/ratings, but don't remember details.

I've got a silvertop, don't know if perhaps that makes a difference vs blacktop? Although doubt they would've changed, then changed back again for the blacktop...

thanks alot for all the info guys, its all helpful, i am quite certain that someone pilfered my coil and ignitor before delivering my front cut considering that ive never seen anything resembling that pic, but just to be sure... maybe i was lookin in te wrong spot, where exactly should i look?
assumin that it aint there, do any of you guys have a spare 16v, 20v or starlet coil and ignitor that u r willing to part with?

I should also note - that picture is from a BLACKTOP 20V

here's a 20v coil and ignitor... this is on an AE92 SX conversion i was doing for Finney on these forums.
