Default rn85 hilux efi pump install

hey guys, doing a 1uz swap in my lux, all is going well but i would like some input on what people have done to run efi as these come with carby engines.

i am outting bigger fuel lines in, but i was just wondering what people have done in the way of fuel pump setups. in tank? surge tank?

i have all the gear lying around to do any setup, just wondering what works best. pics would be great too!

    thanks.

What size fuel lines are you going to ?? I would think 5/16 is probably the standard size line & if so will be plenty unless you are running some massive turbo's too ..

The Guy that I bought my Hilux off used a EFI Holden rodeo tank & it works Very well & no messy surge tank etc needed .. I still had to modify the fuel filler a fair bit as it didn't take much to get it to flow back when filling, but the tank & pump etc all work's very well, just has some New brackets from the chassis holding the New tank ..

I'm just running an external walbro mounted near the chassis rail at the bottom of the tank into some standard diesel fuel lines(bigger lines)
It surges if you give it shit under 1/4 tank but since it isn't turbo i don't mind and just keep it above half a tank
Can get pics if you want

when I did my 1uz in my rn90 I pulled out the fuel pickup for the carby tank
one pipe is return one is feed
I cut the feed pipe short and clamped on an efi pump from an r33 rb25det
then I put a big hose clamp around the pump and the return pipe and the pump was solid as
the rb25 pump is small enough to fit back down the hole in the std tank
took me 20 minutes as I had to drill hole in top and poke wires thru then had to araldite hole and wires

mine only had surging probs bugger all fuel in the tank and never gave me any pobs for 8 years

yeah i thought about hanging a pump on the stock hanger, the fuel lines just look a little small is all. i thinking about pinching the efi tank from an RZN lux

I contemplated brazing in new fuel lines too but then just tried the orig ones which are 6mm
so if its going to stay std 1uz then that will be fine, I never had probs running those small lines

Put a 4runner tank in mine. pretty well a straight fit and comes with the pump
