    it would feel much better

plus if you had a semi race car with the auto then u need to downshift and engine brake

the position of the gear lever on the gearbox moves valves in gbox which makes it downshift when its in 3rd and u select 1st gear only by electronically you get crap

the only way u would need tps to downshift is in full auto mode

just a guess but the amount of truoble your goin to might aswell goto next step

make it a fully programmable ecu just for autos

unless u can make the unit work perfect and reliable for under 200 bucks you wont sell much

do u know how much hassle i have tryin to sell parts over 100 bucks

especially on tight ass forums all over the internet heheheheeheh

thats y i dont get much work thru here

theres better money to be made on nice show cars where they spend over 80 g on them

and older holdens with gen 3s are gettin popular these days and they like to spend money doin it right

i dont get much thru forums anymore jus tnot worth it

well if i was driving a sequential-boxed car, i'd expect trailing throttle to be engine braking not coasting - and not just on downshifting. otherwise, why bother with manualising it?

    ...

Maybe you need to work out how to use air rams to drive a W58 & it;s clutch and paddles to control them?

    this makes me wonder then.

is it really neccesary to have a failsafe to prevent selecting 1st at 150km/hr ?

following on from the previous question,

would you get severe engine braking if you selected 1st at about 80 and then locked up the torque converter??

and would any damage be done to the TC lockup mechanism?

i own a a340e in a ma60 behind my 7mgte id just love to have it downshift as i select it,i too designed a manual shift controller although ive yet to build it.i work with a techie who showed me a simple way to hook up diodes with a switch to give basic manual control but without safegaurd.....lets face it if you make the mistake of pulling the shift from 3rd to 1st and kill your transmission and everything else with it you deserve it.
