    Exclamation wheel fitment ae86

    hello,
im looking to either get some 15" by 6.5" wheels with a +15 offset, or 16" by 7" with +15 offset. basically what i need to know is if these wheels will fit on my AE86. has anyone had any problems running 16's? or is 15" the way to go for hard street/track?

    any help appreciated.

+15 offset in a 6.5" wheel will be fine.

I've currently got +20 which IMHO sits inbound a bit too much. But nothing rubs.

    The new RS-8's I have are a 0 offset .. mmm

Go the 15" I reckon. But thats just my opinion. I'm not a big fan of large diameter wheels on AE86's or any oldschool car for that matter.

yeah i know the 15's would be better, but the 16's just LOOK better! with the +20, how far away does the inner edge sit from the strut and the outer edge guard?

WaLLy off the old forums(not sure if he is on here) bought XSV's sprinter which has 16s on it not sure of offset or anything but it rubs on the inner guard on the passenger side because there is a little indent bit from where the battery normally sits, been told that with a lower profile rubber it doesnt happen.
anyone with 15s that run a reasonable profile rubber have any problems like that?

On my last car I ran 15s with 205/55

These used to rub on the inner guard on full lock, the wheels were a +28 offset which wouldn't normally fit on ae86 struts (I tried them and they rubbed the strut) but when I changed to RA40 they fit (obviously the hub offset on the ra40 was different to the ae86).

A lower profile tyre would have been better, the rubbing wasn't too bad and was only a problem doing u turns and the like.

I run 15X6 -20 offset MX73 Cressida Wheels with 195/50/15 rubber on my AE86, I think it looks ok. I think they are more responsive to steering inputs than the old 14X7 195/60/14s I had on there previously. Edit for typo on offset

edit it again, its +20 offset.

u should be able to run around 15x7's with a +10 offset b4 u need to roll the guards, with 0 offset they will need to be rolled if ur car is nice and low like it should be. maby even get a 7.5 or 8" on there with the right offset. mine run 15x7's +13 offset and no guard rolling necessary and clear everything.
