    Default Wheel locating rings/spigot rings

    Hello,

As most aftermarket wheels tend to have a centre bore much larger than the diameter of the spigot/locater on the hub it means that your wheels end up being bolt/lug centric and not hub centric.

Now I have looked around a bit and can't find much or any info in Aus for places that sell spigot rings/locating rings for your hubs to make the aftermarket wheel hub centric just like your original factory wheels were

A few places on ebay in the UK and US list these locating rings/spigot rings and the prices aren't too bad, but if possible I'd like to buy locally.

The other option is to have some turned on a lathe to suit my wheel and hub combo but this would be quite an expensive option.

So I'd like to hear from the safety/integrity conscious out there - where did you get your spigot rings/locating rings for your hubs and aftermarket wheels from? and what was the cost?

    Thanks in advance,

    Murray Fahquar

Thanks for the info guys, I had asked at a couple of tyre/wheel shops near my work when I bought tyres and got a response and was dismissed as not needing them so I didn't pursue the local scene any further.

Thanks Chuck, I'll check out a Jax/Quickfit on the weekend and grab myself a set.

If successful I will let you guys know and will post up the cost of the rings for the information of Canberrans

they are also around $20 for 4, but shipping is a bitch (if not in a hurry, might be able to get someone to carry)

It's always easier if you have a lathe at home

Having said that, the tyre guy I go to will give you a set of the plastic ones if you ask nicely and buy something from him at the same time.

Yeah, Jax/Quickfit have some. Or you can generally get a custom alloy pair made for about $20 or so.

Queanbeyan (now Fyshwick?) always had a decent range, and Phillip had a few pairs of varying sizes. I got some to pacify Dickson when i engineered the AE86 because the superlites and hotwires didnt have centre caps...

I got some while in Adelaide to fit the new rims I bought over Christmas, cost me $2 a piece (ie $8 all up) through Bob Jane for Nylon ones. Also went to City Discount Tyres who quoted $2.50 a piece for aluminium ones but they didn't have the right size.

Another idea is to try Wheel manufacturers like BSA, Speedy etc direct and see what they can do as they make them to fit multiple sizes any way.
